Damage

Reporting damage

Four steps — from documenting to the official assessment

4 steps

Document the damage

Before cleaning up, photograph the damage — building, equipment and crops. Photos are the basis for the assessment and the report.

Report the damage to your insurer

Contact your insurance company as soon as possible and follow their instructions for the assessment.

Report the damage to your municipality

Municipalities collect damage reports based on an assessment decision. Find your municipality below — we show its statistical region and contact details for reporting.

Find your municipality

Type the municipality name or pick it on the map — we show its region and contact details for reporting damage.

Select a municipality to see its damage-reporting details.

Cooperate with the damage assessment commission

When a natural disaster is declared, municipal and regional commissions record the damage using the official methodology (forms 1–8). Damage to buildings is usually reported to your municipality on the prescribed form.

Damage assessment after natural disasters (URSZR)
Caution during clean-up. During clean-up watch for hazards — damaged electrical wiring, unstable roofs and fallen trees. If in doubt, move away and call for help.
